CASA

MARMOL

Sometimes the most extreme conditions produce the best results, and this house is an example of that. Located on a cliff 300ft above Lago General Carrera and far away from everything, Casa Mármol was a challenge in design (which had to be both simple and sophisticated) and construction (which should be fast and efficient). With plans, materials and workers ready to go, the mountain surprised us with a large marble rock that was exposed while excavating the site to pour the concrete slab. It was decided to incorporate this gift into the design, so a sculptor (from Colorado, USA) spent six weeks carefully cutting and polishing the stone, around which the house was built. After three months of a coordinated effort between clients, designers, suppliers and builders, Casa Mármol received its owners with the best views a house can offer.
